I double-checked & it's in the Spring 1997 issue of Diacritics.  Yes, I
read Thresholds last spring when we discussed it is a visual culture
class.  I really find the ways that she reworks identification to be
interesting and useful, especially her introduction of Brecht into film
theory.  I haven't really seen Brecht used in film theory very often & it
seems to make sense.  Have any other film theorists worked through Brecht
in this way?
