Subject: deconstruction and horror

Dear all,
I recently read a review of this fall's Halloween H20, in which the author
refered to the recent trend in contemporary horror film (i.e. Scream,
Scream 2, Halloween 2) of _deconstructing_ the genre of horror. I am
interested in this uniquely modern (post-modern?) phenomenon, especially
its implications for the classical psychoanalytic reading of horror film.
Ah! I knew that would get your attention. I know that several subscribers
to this list have interests in psychoanalytic film theory. So, what
advice can you offer? I would like to compile a bibliography, if anyone
knows of any recent articles on this topic. If not, just some random
thoughts would help, too!

Graciously,
Eric Butler
