Hyper-realism and super-realism are also terms in painting and recent art
history to describe a contemporary school of realists painters who had some
notice in the early 70's. They came out of Pop Art, and thought I saw a mini
tend in films also during this period. Big large glossy close-ups in sharp
colors of everyday objects. The one film that comes to mind right away is
"Electra Glide In Blue." I haven't seen it in years, but remember being
struck by the way Foley filmed cars and action.
