There are a number of good film production schools all around that I'm
sure many people have told you about by now. A couple that might not be
first of everyone's lists but nevertheless have produced some interesting
work are Florida State University

florida state actually has its own film festival mostly comprised of 
local films every year. They also were involved in an experimental 
film festival sponsored by a local video store recently. there's a pretty huge 
out of put of film coming from that place.
