Don't remember any descriptions of these movies appearing on this List. 2) New subject: Has anyone been following the Ken Burns "Jazz" series? As a long time jazz fan, I am glad to get the music, the bios, examples of great performances, but find repetition, self-congratulation, adulation, strain one's endurance. But one gem fuses scenes and music unforgetably. I think its the end of the 4th hour. A Louis Armstrong recording of "West End Blues" plays for three minutes against a background of black and white scenes, mostly informal, people in the streets, plus a few country scenes. While I can't explain the emotional impact, I compare it's depth to the rare, very rare, emotions caused by a few lines of poetry, and a few passages of classical music. Opinions?
