1)  Please tell us a little about your choices.  Don't remember any
descriptions of these movies appearing on this List.

2) New subject:  Has anyone been following the Ken Burns "Jazz" series?  As
a long time jazz fan, I am glad to get the music, the bios, examples of
great performances,  but find repetition, self-congratulation, adulation,
strain one's endurance.

But one gem fuses scenes and music unforgetably.  I think its the end of the
4th hour.  A Louis Armstrong recording of "West End Blues" plays for three
minutes against a background of black and white scenes, mostly informal,
people in the streets, plus a few country scenes.

While I can't explain the emotional impact, I
compare it's depth to the rare, very rare, emotions caused by a few lines of
poetry, and a few passages of classical music.

Opinions?
