More important to me, however, is what they write and how they write it. Why do they hate or like a film? If they're really good, then they might bring me to watch a movie partly through their eyes, so that I can enjoy it better than if I were just on my own. The movie theater is a lonely place as it is already... Probably nobody knows him, but I liked reading one George Grella, film critic of City, Rochester's alternative newsweekly. A real grump that didn't like much, but with a good sense of humor and a lot of erudition. Here in Holland, I just got news that filmmaker Johan van der Keuken died yesterday. Does anyone know who he was? --- hugh bone <hbone-AT-optonline.net> wrote: > Michael, > > The past doesn't exist and no one lives in the > future. > > I like Sarris also, although "Twin Falls Idaho" and > "Time Regained" were two > recommendations I should have skipped. > > A.
