Yes, probably the fairest, at least the easiest way to
rate critics is to see how accurate their picks are.
More important to me, however, is what they write and
how they write it. Why do they hate or like a film? If
they're really good, then they might bring me to watch
a movie partly through their eyes, so that I can enjoy
it better than if I were just on my own. The movie
theater is a lonely place as it is already...

Probably nobody knows him, but I liked reading one
George Grella, film critic of City, Rochester's
alternative newsweekly. A real grump that didn't like
much, but with a good sense of humor and a lot of
erudition. 

Here in Holland, I just got news that filmmaker Johan
van der Keuken died yesterday. Does anyone know who he
was?
