Subject: The Hustler


Robert Rossen's 1961 film, "The Hustler" has haunted me since I first saw it 
when I was in my teens back in the 1960s (I'm almost 53 at this writing). It 
is my all-time favorite film. Does anyone else feel this way? Have the 
characters, as Roger Ebert put it, "grown in your memory"? They have in mine 
as they have also helped to inform me about what winning is and what it isn't 
in matters most important.
