Saldana" <hbeng175-AT-dewey.csun.edu> Subject: Discourse as a Foucaultian term I am somewhat reluctant to begin my first post with what I know must be a commonplace on this list. However, I also know that "terms" in any discourse are continually in flux by necessity and are therefore always subject to re-examination. I want to start by talking about "discourse" as a term in Foucault's language. I would also like to discuss distinctions between Foucault's thought and the critical movement of New Historicism. Can we agree that Foucault's critical language hinges upon the term discourse? Tristan D. Saldana
