From: "Dan Fincke" <thegreatfandincke-AT-hotmail.com> Subject: Re: what about us Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2000 13:46:47 EDT I agree that a manifesto would be a mistaken approach. I also think that it would rigidify things so much as to leave the movement utterly vulnerable to being reduced to stupid rally cries. But I would not say "woopy-doo" to the notion of pressing, not politically but individually, for an ethic of respect for difference both in arguments and in relationships between persons and nations, etc. This newly evolved version of the Western liberal ethic is more important than any momentary political or intellectual agenda because, if effective in taking root in more and more people's hearts, it will be the deciding factor of what makes up the heart of political and intellectual agendas in the future. Will they be fascist or will they be friendly depends on the heart open to differences more than on any specific goals. Woopy - doo. Long live the revolution. Doug. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
