I am greatly saddened by the events that occurred in NY on S11.

However, from an academic point of view Foucault might say:

- The gaze of american capitalism is no longer as strong as it was at
daybreak on Sept 11 2001

- This is an indication that governmentality is not what it was

- Thousands of people die every day in non-western countries.

- While I am very sad and horrified by what happened on S11, the USA
routinely commits acts of terrorism through a variety of government
agencies. (As an African exchance army officer told me in 1978, 'I like
Canada, they give aid and let us decide what to do with the money.
Americans give us money and interfere with our lives.')

- Canada, the largest terrorist training ground in the world is led by a
prime minister who is reluctant to commit military support USA retaliation.

- We cannot make decisions without affecting the fate of those westerners on
trial for interfering in the internal affairs of Afganistan - American
leaders will likely not be able to savoir because of their inability to
reparage.
