Too bad the subtlety of my take on "special insight" has escaped
the delicate souls taken aback by my "acting out."  Southerners
don't appreciate rude behavior?  What delicious irony.  Hesh my
mouth or soap a rope.  At least Kenneth MacKendrick began with the
proper spirit.

Doug did not get all of his facts straight, alas.  I never called
him a shithead.   I did refer to the New York left collectively as
a collection of shitheads, and I stand by my generalization.  I
did not single out Doug for opprobrium, and though he may have
inferred his own shitheadedness by reasoning from genus to species
(if not genius to special insight), I did not intend to assert
that Doug is any more shitheaded than the rest.  Whether or not
Doug is more shitheaded depends on the accuracy of his statements,
public and private, the degree of his own gratuitous
mean-spiritedness, and his own personal ethics, esp. in
relationship to me and mine.

Somebody else is worried about the attitude the Frankfurters face.
Would I subscribe if I hated the Frankfurters?  I hate only the
French.  The Frankfurters before Habermouth were not
discourse-masturbators.  The golden thread of modern
self-consciousness is Hegelian Marxism.  Adorno was a square on
jazz, but he masterfully proctologized Kierkegaard and Heidegger.
One of my ambitions is to keep all of Hegelian Marxism going --
Lukacs, the Franks, C.L.R. James, and the rest -- so that
lebensphilosophie, hermeneutics, and existentialism -- as well as
discourse-masturbation -- can be forever expunged from the earth.
Why Heidegger, and not Marx?   Why Nietzsche, and not Marx?
