Hello Bob,

I guess I am amzed at the rabid hawkishness of Cheney. The guy wants to spill blood. Between Cheney and that other blood sucker Tony Blair, Iraq doesn't appear to have a chance.

As for war and philosophy; IMO there is something chillingly banal about offering anything other than an emotional response to war. Perhaps the therapeutic (i.e. narcotic) content of utopias (just as with religion) come into their own at times like this. From what reports I've seen from Iraq, "normal" Iraqis don't regard the looming U.S-led strike as a war of liberation, but rather one of continued persecution. The only "good" I can see coming out of all this is that another generation of young people are exposed to the bloodlust of the Allied axis of evil. It is also re-assuring that Schroeder has so publicly backed away from supporting the U.S and Britain. What's your take on it all?
