Matt, Like you, think I find negri & hardt putting lipstick on a pig,...as for my thoughts re bush/cheney etal,...am long schooled, from homely experience as well as "great game" and history, "the world" is run by gangsters and their legion thugs, bootlickers,...still, the orwellian quality of it, the cynical brutality, ...on stage before the world, ...the pretext so transparent, hypocrasy so bold, the contempt for right so perfect, the serene imperviousness to the human consequences, ...is always deeply shocking. ...in nature of course the strong by law eat the weak, and no need for rationalizing,... and the inference that Bush and the entire company from supporting world leaders to intelligentsia to B-52 pilots almost have to be dramatically deficient specimen, ... sub-, or non-, human, ...gangster-scum,...seems to me inescapable ...as for the notion that will to power is everywhere, the ontological fundamentum, ...right, merely one of its more sophisticated articulations; but the pain/guilt of having to stand by helplessly watching this spectacle, the degraded actors, and the dramatically drawn-out horror of cold-blooded murder, seems almost existential proof (the pain/guilt that is) against nietzsche, no? ...that meaning, right and its opposite, must be more originary. ...soooo, felix culpa,... while it don't do much for them, an Iraqi hekatomb does us the grace to prove the existence of god, or something? anyway, there's my home-baked socio-onto-theology of this war, massacre, whatever. ...Saddam's obvious chess move today,...if not for bush, should prove momentarily awkward for the subalterns, blair, chirac, putin..., should illuminate the repulsive cockroaches while they scurry for rhetorical cover. ...only the germans showing some spine, yes....but, how far? yours, bob ----- Original Message ----- From: matthew piscioneri To: frankfurt-school-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu Sent: Monday, September 16, 2002 6:56 AM Subject: Re: Theory and Practice: Hello Bob, I guess I am amzed at the rabid hawkishness of Cheney.
