I'm not aware of the two ever having crossed paths intellectually, but my intensifying interactions with Popperians lately lead me to an interpretation of Popperianism as ideology even though certain aspects of Popper's ideals are abstractly appealing. Except for Stalinist critiques of Popper, mostly of Popper's 'open society' hatchet job, I'm wondering if there are any other substantive Marxist critiques of Popper are out there. In the meanwhile, I'm inspired by Horkheimer's view of specialization and traditional theory, because I suspect this characterizes the people I'm dealing with to a T. See my quasi-essay: Max Horkheimer's Materialism: The Struggle with Traditional Theory, Science, Positivism, & Irrationalism http://www.autodidactproject.org/my/horksci.html
