I think what Angela is saying is extremely important and very fundamental. What is the relationship between theory and practice, esp. when the practice has a political element to it? It seems to me that without practice the theory seems to become simply a game, a crossword puzzle of sorts. How does feminist theory relate to the lives of women, whether American, French, South African, or whatever nationality? Without real living women and men interacting we have nothing to form a basis for theory. I have no answers here. I'm on this list to learn, not because I know all that much about the topic. Those of you who are familiar with feminist theory and feminist practice, what are the relationships you see? > > angela > > ===============================================================> Angela Hunter "forever awakened one comes to join > Northwestern Univ. the secret order drenched with > w: 708/491-7406 longing to lie down in the > bed of no return." > --bell hooks > > > Laurie Cubbison ------------------
