Very funny, if it weren't for serious.... Michele, this is very fascinating. It is like a lengthy argument against the jargonistic appeal of continental thought, and an attempt by an Anglo-American feminist to retrieve and guard closely the purity of what has traditionally passed for feminist ideology in the U.S. I think the best way to approach this topic is extreamly carefully! And to try and show why this feminist ideology and methodology is being internally challenged not only by "FF" working in US feminist circles, but also by women of color in the U.S. And to show how FF is producing new ideologies and methodologies to fight an oppression which has become more subtle and intractable in the face of second wave feminist's gains. I have heard similar apprehensions from second-wave feminists, and I do believe that they should be addressed with much respect for our inheritance from second wave feminists.
