From: meaghan-AT-utdallas.edu Date: Sun, 7 Jul 1996 15:31:52 -0500 (CDT) Subject: Re: fire with fire Having just finished reading _Fire with Fire_, I think Wolf was trying to show that there are all kinds of reactions to and motives behind the adoption of FF, also that there is a perceived gap between it and "practice" and that one does HAVE to read Cixous to be a feminist. Wolf's project in that book is to point out that woman have a political and economic oppurtunity in the US (after the Year of the Woman) that we've never had in such a way before, and she encouraging us to get the our courage up, our strength up, and go to work making the sort of impact we've been hoping to.
