Subject: Re: Irigaray and Plato's Cave

Hello,

I have been a subscriber to this list for a few months and have enjoyed
the ebb and flow of various interests. My own interest in French
Feminism originated when I was working on my MFA in visual art. ( I am a
new grad living in rural Ohio,USA and this list is one strategy I have
devised for staying involved with contemporary discourse.)

Anyway I am writing to respond to Meaghan's request of Oct 17 for other
text's which explore Irigaray's _An Ethics of Sexual Difference_.

Tina Chanter's _Ethics of Eros: Irigaray's Rewriting of the
Philospher's_, which has been mentioned before on this list, is an
excellent resource.

In responding to this request I realized that it gave me real pleasure
to share the title of a book which has made a real difference in my
understanding of French Feminism. This book, following after Elizabeth
Grosz's _Space, Time and Perversion_ ,has made Irigaray's difficult
writings accessible to me.

Well enough for now! I hope this will be helpful.

Ellen
