i have very strong objections to this idea, and this for purely
theoretical reasons:
1. this idea is another example of feminist theory and practice being
drastically at odds: so long as on of the main issues of fem. theory is
that sex is not gender, i continue wondering whether a male can qualify
as a feminist: the present suggestion answers this ?tion in the
negative;
2. so long as the suspension of binarisms is another major issue from
fem. theory, why introduce the divide again? i fail to see why, given of
course that we take the issue of reconstructing identities - male as
well as female - beyond binarisms seriously, the newly born Adam can't
learn to speak on this fr.-fem. list? (and BTW i wonder at the pompous
self-confidence of the initial poster's assumptions that "some men...":
are you sure that the person signing "vadim linetski" is a man? why are
you so sure that i am not a woman?);
3. "some men are searching for a new "ISM""; is not PoMo about doing
away with ISMs? if there really is such a tendency on the part of these
"men" (if the poster had the generosity to include my humble self into
this category i have to strongly deny that i was searching for anything
of the kind), why connive it instead of warning against?
4. last but not least this suggestion sadly proves that among many gifts
of vadim linetski that of premonition is not the last: haven't i
identifie the tendency to scapegoat?! here's we have another step
towards the fascistic separation: men as jews have to be confined to a a
ghetto, a new deportation is in sight... i thought that feminism is all
about NOT becoming Amazons... speak about faithfullness to french
luminaires! speak about someone's (guess who's!)being "a despot in his
own land of truth"!!
wishing the great cause of Feminism verily and truly well i think that
it's my duty to warn you that fascism is about to re-emerge in the
feminist guise.
