Tom, Before I teach Kristevan theory, I do at least one class session on the descent of Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth. I compare Kristeva's artist's descent, death, and rebirth through access to the chora to Inanna's descent, death and radiant rebirth through reintegration of the "earth-mother." The myth provides images for these otherwise very difficult and somewhat abstract concepts. I have quite a section on it in the dissertation I completed a couple of years ago. I can send it if you want. Regards again, CAB >Thanks to Kathy and Marilyn for reading suggestions so far. I had >thought of using parts of _The Kristeva Reader_ for our Bible and the >Body course.
