'REVISITING THE SCENES OF WRITING: NEW READINGS OF CIXOUS'
to be held on FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 1998
at Institute of Romance Studies, Senate House (3rd floor), Malet Street,
London,WC1E 7HU

For 30 years, Helene Cixous's work has seduced, perplexed and engaged the
reader in a variety of responses, and a retrospective, synoptic and
synthesising consideration of its diversity is timely. Through an
exploration of the theme of writing itself in Cixous's oeuvre, this
conference will bring together new commentaries drawn from current and
emerging studies of both her theatrical and fictional texts.
