Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1999 10:05:39 +0000 Subject: French Teaching Methodology and Quebec Culture Program French Teaching Methodology and Quebec Culture Program June 25 - July 2, 2000 Montreal and Quebec City Linguahostel, in collaboration with the Université de Montréal, is pleased to offer its second annual French Teaching Methodology and Quebec Culture Program. This program is intended for teachers and future teachers of French who would like the opportunity to master a variety of teaching methods and to create instructional activities integrated with Quebec culture based on current pedagogical approaches for their specific level taught. All courses and participant interaction will be conducted entirely in French. Participants of the French Teaching Methodology and Quebec Culture Program may choose to enroll in one of the following program sections according to the level they teach: • Elementary • Junior High/Middle School • High School • University/Adult Each program section will explore various French teaching methodologies and Quebec cultural materials appropriate for the particular age group taught or instructional level. Program cost of $800 (USD) includes: •Five mornings of instruction in French teaching methodology •Five afternoon sessions of integrating Quebec culture into curriculum by level or guided cultural excursions. •Guided excursion to Quebec City including round-trip transportation and one night's lodging in a dormitory facility in Quebec City. •Daily breakfasts Monday through Saturday. Daily lunches Monday through Thursday. Welcome dinner on Sunday and farewell dinner on Saturday •Two university credits (premier cycle) from the Université de Montréal. Five in-service credits issued by Linguahostel. Eighty Professional Development Points issued by Linguahostel. Eight Continuing Education Units issued by Linguahostel Participants of the Linguahostel French Teaching Methodology and Quebec Culture Program also have the opportunity to earn graduate semester credits from the University of California for an additional fee. Participants may reside in single or double occupancy dormitory rooms at the Université de Montréal for an additional fee of $27.00 or $38.00 Canadian funds per night. Participants may also choose to reside with a French-speaking host family in Montreal.
