Subject: catherine clement

I've been trying to locate some recent biographical information about Catherine
Clement, but with surprisingly little success (she appears in the 1979-80 Who's
Who in France, for example, but not the more recent additions). I've got pretty
good details on her career in the 1970s, but only sketchy info after that.

The key issue: Clement was involved with the Communist Party (the PCF) in the
1970s. The translation of *Syncope* (1994) has her as "a cultural diplomat with
the French embassy in Vienna." This -- and the book itself -- suggests a
political shift, but I can't find documentation. Does anyone know anything that
might be of use?

Thanks,

Amy Hollywood
