Hello Tom,

yes this is Sudip, and right you are I am from India.
it is a different world but depends where you are situated. can you tell me your angle of view I mean your country and your state, of course only if you don't mind. Only then can I give you the right picture or as they say in media the picture that you want.
as for my saying that I am new to this, frankly I was testing the mailing list and also announcing my joining this list.
as for India, it is a country which talks about diversity as its sense of existence that extends not only to the kinds of people that inhabit this subcontinent but also to the way we think. The first thing that an outsider notices is the number of people. It's one thing to know that it is the most populated country and quite another to actually experience it, or should I say get assaulted by it.
we are members of a select few who have their own satellite launchers, as well as probably the highest number of people living below poverty line. We have our food godowns bursting at seems, but more than 40 percent of our population cannot afford to buy highly subsidized food. We also produce the highest number of software professionals, and the Silicon Valley is a proof of that.
it's a large country so naturally there are a lot of things for you to know but depends who what you want to know. So please let me know, and I will be for ever ready to oblige.
with regards
Sudip
