Hi Leslie and the others on this list; I suppose I ought to introduce
myself: as far as I know, I might be the only male participant listwise; my
main interest is in Irigaray's thinking because of her extraordinary
critique of Heidegger in 'Oblivion of Air' (forgive the translation, I am
not only not french-speaking but not exactly a feminist either (although
interested)); and this because of my longlived absorption in the thinking of
Heidegger (been on the Heidegger list, a 'brother' list to this one at:
heidegger-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu, for a decade or so); sorry, getting
lost in thickets of parentheses... Unlike many of you, I am not an academic
or student (although I have been...), but a cross between a composer
(unsuccessful) and graphic designer (a very bare survival means) and budding
writer (trying to write a novel...). Well, that's me: I'll try and collect
some thoughts concerning Irigaray/Heidegger and post some stuff to this list
and hopefully get some balls rolling.

regards

michaelP
