Subject: Re: HAB: Habermas and the Frankfurt School

There is something not quite right in identifying Habermas' relation to
Kant as a critical relation without going into the method or type of
critique. i really think the difference between adorno and habermas,
adorno and heidegger, adorno and marcuse, is the space occupied by Kant
in the adornian textuality. The negative dialectic is not merely the
inversion of the aporia, its end, or anything other than the writing of
the negative (the aporetic) and its affirmation. So, the point i'm trying
to make is that habermas writes in an idealist dialectic, like marcuse
and heidegger, while adorno critiques from the aporetic materiality of
writing itself.
