Subject: HAB: Standing for a United Europe


Just out, in the U.S, by Habermas: _A Berlin Republic: Writings on
Germany_ (U. Nebraska Press, 1997), paperback (translation of
_Vergangenheit als Zukunft: Das alte Deutschland_); it is the sequel,
sort of, to _The Past As Future_ (UNP, 1994). 

This is not on my reading list for attention soon. But let an emphatic
claim that Habermas has little sense of engagement or participation or
practice or concrete sense of the historical lifeworld *always* be
regarded as symptomatic behavior. (I am *not* referring you anyone in
particular.)
