Subject: HAB: Hello


Hi.  I'm a new subscriber to the list -- my name is Jeff McIntire-Strasburg,
and I'm a Ph.D. candidate in English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
I've just recently become interested in Habermas's work -- I'm currently
reading vol. 1 of The Theory of Communicative Action, with an eye towards
using this concept as a theoretical foundation for my dissertation on student-
teacher relationships in the plays of David Mamet.
While I'm sure these ideas have been discussed before on this list, would
anyone care to engage in a dialogue on this work?  I'm finding it fairly
accessible, but I'd love to discuss it with others.  Any takers?
