In Vic's honor, I'd like to add a quick bibliographic query.  Tony, I
think the book you're refering to is _The Fragmented World of the
Social_, subtitled "Essays in Social and Political Philosophy."  Is
that right?  


(This, by the way, shouldn't be confused with Die zerrissene Welt des
Sozialen.  The German original was considerably expanded when it came
into translation.)
