In the index to these volumes i pointed out where there is a discussions of this central theme. But more especifically, in the essay "The Challenge of a Totalizing Critique of Reason and the Program of a Philosphical Theory of Rationality Types" in Volume two has one of the most important discussions of the consequences of Apel's theory of performative self-contradiction. In the recently released selection From a Transcendental-Semiotic Point of View (Manchester and New York: Manchester University Press, 1998), in the index you will find more references. And, finally, in Apel's most recent collection of essays __Auseindersetzungen. In Erprobung des Transzendentalischen Ansatzes__(Franfkurt am Main: Suhrkamp, 1998), you will find the most recent discussion. Fourtunately, and strangely, this volume does have an index...page 861, has the entry "Selbswiderspruch, pragmatischer (performativer) with a list of a about 40 pages where the term is discussed and defined.
