 Dear Colleagues,

   I am traveling, and therefore don't have access to my copy of Minima
Moralia.  But I am pretty sure that the German original is NOT "Das Ganze is
das Falsche", which would translate literally into English as "the whole is
the false", but rather "Das Ganze is das Unwahre", which would translate
literally as "the whole is the untrue."  Although obviously the denotation
is almost identical, the connotations are different.  I will check when I
return from my travels next week.
