Dear Colleagues:

Jeremy Shapiro has the memory of an elephant (or should we now say a
superserver)...I checked the original German ---section 29 of Minima
Moralia (Frankfurt: Bibliotek Suhrkamp, 1980), p. 57, and it reads "Das
Ganze is das Unwahre." So, Jeremy is right...It should be translated as the
"The whole is the untrue."
