Really very sorry to burn bandwidth, comrades, but it occurs to me I may be
listed either/both as rws-AT-comserver.canberra.edu.au and/or
rws-AT-comedu.canberra.edu.au .  It'd be beaut if both could be unsubscribed.
Just too much to do for the moment, I'm afraid.

Oh, and I think the ISS is an horizon towards which we aspire, but that
Steve's right, too.  As we change, so does the horizon.  The fact remains
that we define and legitimise our order and the nature/role of
communication within and beneath  it on formal grounds that either do or
don't manifest themselves in our reality, and as the ISS is the ideal
immanent to the whole formal edifice, any needless departure from
approximating it denotes something very significant.
