I will share with you this email I just sent to Fred. Forgive me if
this is out of line or appears paranoid:

Fred,

Regretfully, I tend to agree with you. Raul sent me a Spanish version
of his recent posting, as I requested, because (as I'd said), I
couldn't deal with his "English". Coincidently, a professional
Spanish-English translator friend happened by and I asked for help
(since the AltaVista machine wasn't doing very well). She looked over
the Spanish text, but declined to help because, she said, the writer
was clearly anti-Semitic. I was amazed. I said I had no trouble with
persons being anti-Israel or pro-Palestinian. She said, no, this
writer is anti-Semitic. She also said that there's a big problem in
Argentina, due to its fascist history, that there are extremist
communities that have grown up in "radical" reaction, and that, since
Raul had also sent me an email with an Islamic salutation (I
mentioned), it's possible that he's from Lebanon, since there is a
large Lebanese community in urban Argentina, and Islamic
fundamentalism is alive in Argentina.
