Thanks for your comprehensive response. Nothing to argue with, though still 
unsatisfied (as I think are many students of Habermas) with this sort of 
thing:

Reminds me of Kant's warning about taking transcendentalized heuristic 
devices TOO *seriously*; there's a risk of stimulating more rather than less 
false consciousness.
