Further to previous discussions of the transcendental moment in Habermas's 
work; I consider the compatibility for Habermas of the fallibilistic status 
of validity claims and the unconditional aspect of these same claims 
*confirms* his emphasis on the *aiming* at unconditionality rather than on a 
substantive transcendentalism.
