Subject: thinking German

Dr. Michael Eldred's aside concerning the inherent superiority of the
German language, like Heidegger's similar claim in the Spiegel interview,
made me chuckle. Oh, these impure, mongrel languages, alienated from the
pristine pre-lapsarian, pre-Babel Greek source by those bastard Romans,
henceforth consigned to errancy and oblivion. Let us all solemnly surrender
this ugly, degrading tongue and commence thinking in the Herrensprache, since,
of course, die Sprache spricht (Deutsch). Reminds me of the passages from
Benjamin's _Trauerspielbuch_ wherein he cites Baroque
theologians of language, who insisted that Adam and Eve spoke German.
Cheers,
Paul N. Murphy
