From: Alexander Carnera Ljungstroem <Alexander.Carnera.Ljungstroem-AT-jur.ku.dk> Subject: SV: estimation and thinking Date: Thu, 26 Feb 1998 16:13:16 +0100 Dear Heid. freaks. I have been studyung Heidegger for some years now. Right now I want to write a more funny article on Heidegger. Its difficult to find humourous stuff on Heidegger but I have heard som rumours about Heidegger being extremely interesting in football (european!). In fact, the rumour says good old Martin wqs watching the worldcup-final in 1974 (or was the european champianship in 72?) and his Television broke down. He rushed to the neighbour begging him for seeing the rest of the match. Three major questions arise: (1) Did Heidegger miss Hollands first goal on penalty? (2) Is there a great similarity between Franz Beckenbauer and Heidegger regarding sport, culture and character (not politics!) and (3) Is there a hidden dimension in football (e.i. Ballbehandlung) that resembles that of Heidegger=B4s thinking. Is the soccor field the highway of Dasein? Can anyone verify Heidegger=B4s great interest in sport and particular football and would it happen that anyone of you can give me some hints to a deeper narrative of this story about what happened this famours summerafternoon when Martin=B4s TV broke down. Maybe a hidden article, or an uncle of some friend of Matin=B4s brother who knew of Martin=B4s weakness for soccer. Please let me know soon and if anyone of you is planning a book on Heidegger and football, do not hesitate to inform me. Alexander, Heidegger and footballfan. >---------- >Fra: Henk van Tuijl[SMTP:Henk.van.Tuijl-AT-net.HCC.nl] >Sendt: 23. februar 1998 17:23 >Til: heidegger-AT-jefferson.village.Virginia.EDU >Emne: Re: estimation and thinking > >Allen Scult wrote: >> I assume the liberal attitude you mean here is not a good thing, >> but I was wondering which of the "not good things" connoted by >> liberal you were referring to here. > >Liberal is a good thing imo.
