Thanks.  Unfortunately, I don't foresee being able to make it up to 
Cambridge, although it sounds stimulating.  No one on the list knows of 
anything socio-philosophical like that in the NYC environs?

I know that it's been awhile since the discussion on Lacan.  But for those
interested and in the area, Slovoj Zizek--the prominent and generally
entertaining Lacanian from Ljubjiana--will be giving two talks at Harvard
early next week.  More info at http://www.harvard.edu/fas/~clcs.  The
Center for Literary & Cultural Studies hosting these events also has a
biweekly Jacques Lacan Workshop, led by Judith Feher Gurewich, a clinical
Lacanian.
