No, not "which qualities", but only that beings show themselves in a certain way, and this way of showing can be the same for two beings (_autos_) or different (_heteros_). The ideas of 'same' and 'different' are independent of any 'sensual material' and thus prior to experience. Cf. Plato's "Sophist", where the two categories of _autos_ and _heteros_ play an important role. Simpcox would then only need to distinguish one colour from another _ceteris paribus_ (e.g. two identical cloaks differing only in colour). His ability to do so could not then be used as a proof for him being a fraud.
