Subject: Re: Kehre Date: Sat, 16 May 1998 18:11:28 +0200 I think _epagoge_ and metaphors relating to _looking_ or _going back_ (for instance in the Cave Allegory) are important for discussing different kinds of _turning_. See also Michael Eldred's book (ed.) Twisting Heidegger Heidegger was a passionate skier (this is the right place for doing different kinds of _kehre_; in German we have for instance: wiederkehr (return, come back, see Nietzsche), rückkehr (come back), umkehr (turning back, also in moral sense), (see also: drehen, turning; as well as _winden_ like in _verwinden_ and _ueberwinden_ two key words of Heidegger's thinking on metaphysics) see also: _Wiederholung_ (in Being and Time). Heidegger uses Kehre for instance 1928 (GA 26, p.201: indicating that the _temporale Analytik_ ist "at the same time the _Kehre_, where Ontology goes back into metaphysical ontics, where it is always already situated, and it does it explicitly" rafael -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Stuart Elden <Stuart.Elden-AT-brunel.ac.uk> An: 'heidegger-AT-lists.village.Virginia.EDU' <heidegger-AT-lists.village.Virginia.EDU> Datum: Samstag, 16.
