Might we be able to characterize Heidegger's philosophy as a Realist philosophy (as opposed to a Nominalist philosophy) -- in the sense of Scotus' Scholastic Realism (not at all necessarily related to modern philosophical "realism," empiricism, etc.). Peirce, interestingly, traces his thinking back to Scotus and the Scholastic Realists. Any erudite comments on Heidegger's relationship to the Scholastic Realists?
