Alan, Striving to uncover a communality in a language is an ontic comportment which presupposes Dasein as “being-with”, i.e. the ontological constitution or make-up (_Seinsverfassung_) of Dasein. Language itself has its ground in this ontological dimension; it does not constitute it. “Die zeigende Sage be-wegt die Sprache zum Sprechen des Menschen.” “The showing-pointing saying makes language’s way to human speaking.” (_Der Weg zur Sprache_ in: UzS:266) The second “e” in “be-wegt” is written with an Umlaut in the original to indicate a “making way”. The path in thinking in this late paper is quite remarkable; it makes clear the derivative nature of human speaking, i.e. derivative of propriation.
