I know there is a discussion of "das Selbe" in an essay whose English title is "The Principle of Identity" (published in a book entitled _Essays in Metaphysics_, which is a translation of _Identität und Differenz_). In this translation "das Selbe" is translated as "the Same." I don't know, however, if this is his principle discussion of the term, nor is it very clear to me what its significance is (though, its relation to Hegelian dialectics - as has been pointed out already in responce to my post - is clear). I'm interested in the term in part in order to understand how it functions in some of Derrida's texts (for instance, in "Differance," as well as in _Disseminations_), and how Derrida's usage differs from Heidegger's.
