Date: Fri, 29 Jan 1999 17:18:44 EST Subject: Re: Heidegger and Joyceand theater A few thoughts occured to me here. I am a playwright, and teach theatre, and have found Heidegger a perfect thinker for those trying to understand the nature of the stage and theatre. I won't go into a long dissertation here on the many ways I see H's thought being to useful to the theatre artist, but essentially the later H and the way he discusses Art and approaches poetry, is very like what a Peter Brook, or Kantor,...would try to have students start with. If anyone has any observations on this or knows of any writing on H and theatre I'd love to hear it. thanks Steppling --- from list heidegger-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
