Hi Jan, I wouldn't be too hard on the suffix that makes 'lassen' into a noun substantive. Being itself gathers, and language follows this gathering in defining what is granted by being to come to stand, and even to stand of itself, i.e. like a nomen substantivum. Even a verb like 'lassen' or 'let' is not innocent, since it too defines and brings to a stand in the light of being.
