Only now I remembered also this:

In the conversation of Borges and Juenger the question,
whether man will become an ant, is considered.
Borges says: but then there can be no freedom.
Juenger: But all are taken care of. 

Juenger is visiting frequently an ant-hill in the neighbourhood.
He remarks, that our idea of the insect, that it is alway working,
is probably wrong. For longer periods, no sign of activity
is noticeable. Maybe they are happy 'en famille', fumbling
one another.
