From: "Stuart Elden" <stuart.elden-AT-clara.co.uk> Subject: RE: Eleventh thesis on Feuerbach Date: Wed, 27 Feb 2002 17:31:33 -0000 I'm not going to reply to all of those mails that have followed mine, but will try to say something. Michael (E) - thanks for posting the reference, and the date of 1969. I don't disagree with Rene's suggestion about the unimportance of dates ultimately here, but sometimes it's useful to be historical. Could I trouble you to post the German original of the 11th thesis - this would help to answer Phil's question about the translation. Michael (P) - i don't remember in detail what else was in the collection. My recollection was that it was essays by people about Heidegger rather than anything else by him. Rene - can i just ask you to clarify the remark "this too becomes clear on the basis of the GA edition" - do you mean the GA edition of Vortraege und Aufsaetze? I've not seen this - only the 4th German edition, which is in a single volume (not like the three volume earlier edition. Is there anything extra in the GA edition? Presumably there are the comments from Heidegger's own copy like in GA2 and others? (As an aside here - to anyone - is the new Polt translation of Introduction to Metaphysics any good? Does it translate the GA edition or the earlier German one? That is, are Heidegger's marginal notes included?) Thanks Stuart --- from list heidegger-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
