The rest of his risible terminology - the ersatz "dross-words" like "Dasein" and "presencing" and the silly "worlding of the world" type nonsense, all flow from Heidegger's attempt to fettle a way around the fact that he never learned to understand the function of the BE-word and its conjugates, which of course include the word 'being.' To discuss Heidegger is to discuss his key words - for Heidegger is one of those philosophers whose whole thought rests upon the acceptance (or rejection) of that one key word "Being." The rest of his semi-incoherent ramblings are simply extrapolations of notions based on "Being" couched in an Elf-language which is designed to obfuscate rather than illuminate. Paul asks why, if I detest him so much, do I bother to read his writings? I read him in order to better understand him, and in that better understanding make myself more able to attack and undermine his malevolence. I have never made any secret of this fact. Why do I do it? Because I hold his ideas to be evil and dangerous, in that they help eternize a transcendentalist view of the world, which if it is not confronted and exposed for what it really represents, will eventually lead to the destruction of the human race. We can see this in the militant Middle-Eastern version of transcendentalism, which like the Shinto-version transcendentalist Japanese suicide flyers of WW 2 are adopting the same tactics. This is not to say of course that I have a vision of leather-goggled Heideggerian transcendentalists flying Tiger Moths into Government Buildings, but rather that Heideggerianism, by insinuating itself into our establishments of learning, provides an established and lawful intellectual conduit for the dissemination of these beliefs in irrationality and illogicality in the minds of our youth. The Heidegger cult, as its ideas percolate downwards into society, is one source of ' irrationalist manna from heaven' which militant (and passive) transcendentalism and religiosity parasitically feeds upon. Visit any violently right-wing, white-supremascist or Neo-Nazi site on the internet and guess who they claim as one of their own - in some cases - their Guiding Light? And don't come back at me with snide remarks that I spend all my time visiting these sites - because I don't - other than for studying Heidegger's continuing influence on modern fascism. It also taps into the poisonous ophidian vein of German (continental) idealism with its reificatory folk fantasies, and in doing so (particularly in academia) perpetuates and rubber-stamps spiritualistic obscurantism. In all the time I have been on this list I have never read in his works, or been informed by anyone else, of one single new idea that Heidegger came up with that was in any way different from what had gone on before? Most of his regurgitative stuff is just junk sociology or beginner's psychology dressed up in his Heideggerian Elf-Language - "the being of being" and the "worlding of the world," or such Hobbit language side-splitters as: "being disclosed as it shows itself as a disclosure," and all that Tolkienesque children's-book talk. THAT's not "philosophy - Don't make me laugh! Or as John McEnroe famously said: "You can't be serious!"
