Has anybody read the Rudiger Safranski bio of Heidegger ("Between Good and
Evil," I think)? I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on it. Shelley
Frisch's translation of the Nietzsche bio just came in and I'm curious
about Mr. Safranski's prior work--

And Bob, I agree about hip hop/rap lyrics. Hearing Public Enemy in the
'80's still ranks as one of the my most interesting, challenging personal
engagements with pop culture and art--I hope you get in touch with some
good stuff. And "Raising Hell" is one of the best albums ever, imho.

Thanks to Rene for the nice bit on Eminem.

Thank you Jason, also for the nice conversation with Paul.
Safranski is far more dangerous than Eminem - he persuades
vast contingents of intellectuals, that Heidegger, the 'master of
death', can be mastered. Ooff, this is getting more ugly than I thought.
When I want to laugh, I watch Sloterdijk's show on German television.
There he fills the ga(s)ps of his master's voice.
Well, he is not to blame, the peaceful German blue eyes all look so
seriously and expecting at him. And the Americans translate his books.
There is one more booky of his ... on evil. Very very bad.

he must be as rich as Eminem
